Angela Halverson joined Townsend, Tomaio & Newmark, LLC in April 2019. After earning her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., Ms. Halverson served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Michael Paul Wright in the Morris County Superior Court, Family Division, assisting with the FM (pre- and post-judgment), FD (non-dissolution), FJ (juvenile delinquency), FA (adoption), and FC, FF, FG, FL, and FN (Children in Court) dockets. Ms. Halverson then practiced family law for a firm in Manhattan, representing New Jersey and New York clients in divorce, child custody, and child support matters. Before joining Townsend, Tomaio & Newmark, LLC, Ms. Halverson worked as Assistant Prosecutor in Union County, New Jersey, where she prosecuted adults and juveniles. She is skilled in both written and oral advocacy, having appeared in court almost daily, completed numerous bench and jury trials, and written countless motions and briefs.

While attending Georgetown University Law Center, Ms. Halverson earned a Pro Bono Award for her work related to child abuse. She also acted as a student attorney in a year-long clinic assisting indigent tenants with their landlord-tenant matters. Ms. Halverson grew up in Wisconsin and graduated magna cum laude from Ripon College in 2003, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology-Anthropology. She went on to earn her Master of Science degree, cum laude, in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, where she focused on victimology and criminal justice policy.
